How does the AI Room Designer work?
You upload one photo of a room and choose what kind of room it is and a style. We shrink the photo, remove its location data and send it to an image model with a short brief: keep every wall, window, door and the camera angle exactly where they are, then furnish the room in your style. The result comes back in under a minute, usually, and you compare it with your photo using the slider.
It is the same idea as our real makeovers, only faster: you see the room before you spend anything.
How do you take a good room photo?
- Shoot from a corner at chest height. You get two walls and most of the floor, which gives the AI room to place furniture.
- Use daylight. Open the curtains and switch off ceiling lights. Mixed light makes colours muddy.
- Hold the phone straight. Vertical lines that lean make the redesign lean too.
- Clear the floor. Boxes, ladders and tools get turned into odd objects.
- Keep people and pets out. Photos with people are refused.
Which style should you pick?
Each preset is a short design brief. If you are unsure, try two that feel different and compare.
-
Modern Luxury
Stone, brass and soft velvet in cream and cognac. It suits living rooms and bedrooms with good daylight, where polished surfaces can catch the light.
-
Japandi
Japanese calm meets Scandinavian comfort: pale oak, linen, low furniture and very few objects. A good first try for small or awkward rooms.
-
Scandinavian
White walls, birch, wool and plants. Bright and practical, it makes a north-facing room feel lighter and suits family spaces.
-
Boho
Rattan, layered rugs, terracotta textiles and a lot of greenery. Works best in rooms with one big window and a relaxed use.
-
Industrial
Brick, black steel, leather and bare bulbs. Strongest in lofts, basements and rooms with high ceilings or concrete floors.
-
Minimal
Few pieces, hidden storage and a quiet palette. Use it to see how much space the room has before you buy anything.
-
Coastal
Sand, white and soft blue with linen and jute. It brightens dark rooms without going cold, and suits bedrooms and bathrooms.
-
Moroccan Riad
Zellige tiles, carved wood, arches, lanterns and deep teal with saffron. Rich and warm; try it in dining rooms, terraces and courtyards.
-
Dark & Moody
Our signature: deep walls, velvet and warm LED strips hidden in shelves, coves and behind the bed or TV. The room glows at night instead of feeling dark.
What can the AI Room Designer not do?
It is an inspiration tool, not a floor plan. The AI does not measure your room, so a sofa that looks perfect may be too long in real life. It can invent sockets, radiators or a slightly different window frame, and it knows nothing about load-bearing walls, wiring or building rules. Products in the picture are illustrations; most do not exist exactly as shown.
Use it to choose a direction, then plan with a tape measure and, for structural work, a professional.

Your photo and your design stay private: only you, in the browser you used, and our editors can see them. We delete both 24 hours after you create them. A design appears in the gallery only if you share it and an editor approves it. The full details are in our privacy policy.
